Downtown Disney is Disney's entertaining and shopping district and you don't need an admission ticket to the theme park in order to enjoy it. There are a lot of fun family restaurants for those who have older teens and kids and the parking is free. Here are a few Disney Restaurants worth visiting.

Ghirardelli Soda Fountain: This soda fountain doesn't really serve any real food but with all the cocoa coffee, banana floats, cones, ice cream floats, and sundaes no one cares. You can more than satisfy your sweet tooth here with the Earthquake Sundae that has eight scoops of ice cream and eight toppings that include cherries, chopped almonds, whipped cream, and sliced bananas.

House of Blues: The funky decor and cuisine that is Cajun inspired means that this a really enjoyable place to eat. There is live Blues music on Saturday, Friday, and Thursday nights after 11:00 PM. Check out their website to be sure there aren't any special events that require a ticket on the night of your planned visit. This restaurant doesn't participate in the Disney Dining Plan.

Planet Hollywood: The service and food are only fair on a good night but the building and movie memorabilia are worth a stop. It is also very noisy in the restaurant. If you have booked a Magic Your Way package, you'll also have a voucher that is good for a $15 meal. This restaurant participates in the Disney Dining Plan.

Raglan Road: This restaurant has the decor of an Irish Pub complete with live music after 9:00 PM. The music usually consists of Irish folk tunes with some infusions of Celtic interpretations of American 80's and 90's cover songs. After the music has started, it is a loud Pub atmosphere. The guests from the UK either hate it or love it. This restaurant participates in the Disney Dining Plan.

Rainforest Cafe: This is a neat restaurant that has an occasional thunderstorm along with a jungle ambiance, waterfalls, and a giant fish tank. The service and food are average but the restaurant is a fun place to eat. This restaurant doesn't participate in the Disney Dining Plan.

T-Rex: This restaurant was designed by the same people who designed the Rainforest Cafe so the dinosaur theme is impressive. You can expect average service and food. This restaurant doesn't participate in the Disney Dining Plan.

Although they aren't themed elaborately, the Earl of Sandwich, the Wolf Gang Puck Express, and Bongos Cuban Cafe all have food that will appeal to older teens and kids. - 24553
