You can surely find a lot of recipes which try to give you the chance to prepare rather a good meal of roasted potatoes. However many of you aren't satisfied with just "rather" good and try to achieve perfect results. This is why we have created this article. It provides you with the recipe about how to create the perfectly roasted potatoes which are good enough even for the most exquisite of tastes.
As any other meal you will also need to have some ingredients, but you probably already have them, because they can be found in every household. You will just need eight rather medium-large potatoes, about 100g of olive or vegetable oil differing on your taste. And as usual some seasoning herbs, but you can only use salt and pepper to set the meal to your taste. Besides that you need to have a fork, saucepan, peeler and a roasting tin.
After you have laid your hands on all this, you can start cooking the dish. The first thing you need to do is to skin and bowdlerize the potatoes. It is the best choice to use a potato peeler to skin the potatoes, however you could also use a knife, but it is not recommended. The reason why a peeler is better than a knife is not only that it is easier but the peeler also keeps the healthy vitamins inside the vegetable while if you use a knife you will probably ruin them. So, when you finish peeling the potatoes start cutting them approximately in the size of an egg. Don't be worried if you miss the size by a bit, however strive for perfection.
Add the potatoes to the saucepan and fill it with water. Let them boil for about 5 or 6 minutes, but don't let them boil completely. When the time goes by, use the lid to drain the water out from the saucepan and then let the potatoes cool. At the same time, while you are waiting for them to cool, get ready the roasting tin by pouring the oil into it and then putting it into the oven at temperature about 245C.
When the potatoes are cooled, use a fork to scratch their surface, however be careful and do not create big craters. When the oil is starting to sizzle put the potatoes in the oil and turn them around so that they are fully covered with oil. If they aren't covered evenly, they won't roast properly and it will result in a ruined dish.
Return the roasting tin into the over and let them cook for about one hour. Watch the potatoes from time to time. It's recommended to turn them around halfway through the time so that they can roast evenly. In the end they should have a roasted outside but a soft inside. The only thing left is to serve and enjoy the perfectly roasted potatoes. - 24553
