Are you trying to lose fat? If so, enhancing your metabolism will make your life infinitely easier. Unfortunately, many people do not know how to effectively increase their metabolic rate.

Perhaps you have reached a plateau because of a compromised metabolism?

So without further ado, here are 5 steps for mastering your metabolism:

1. Regularly spike your caloric intake: If you do not do this and eat too little calories, your metabolism will eventually sink. Even worse, your body will not retain a toned and tight look, instead it will look flabby and loose.

2. Have enough amino acids: Your body needs amino acids to repair its tissues, so make sure you have enough protein in your diet. More is not better, however. If you go too high with your protein intake and induce ketosis, the consequences will be extremely negative.

3. Eat before your workouts: You want to have small meals here, but you need to eat something. You see, failing to eat will have you burning less fat and exercising with less intensity-a horrible combo for maximum metabolic effects.

4. Have green tea: And don't think that coffee makes the cut here. You see, coffee lacks a crucial metabolic boosting ingredient: catechins. Moreover, coffee is more likely to give you a rise and then sharp crash in energy. So stick to green tea for the best results.

5. Don't drink like a camel: If you only drink when you get thirsty or when you eat, you are missing out big time. You see, your body hydrates best when you drink small amounts of water consistently during the day. So make sure you sip water in between meals for maximum effect here.

Getting your metabolism as high as it will go is a great way to make sure you keep on losing weight far into your program. And this is where most people fail. They can start off losing weight, but can't maintain the losses.
